§ Privacy

What we keep,
what we’d never.

Nowrap is an editorial site. We don’t run a service you sign up for, we don’t take payments, and we don’t keep a profile on you. The only personal data we hold is what you choose to send us when you tip the editors about a tool. Everything else on this page is the boring detail of what your browser pings while you read.

What we collect.

01 — Server request logs

Standard web traffic data — IP address, user-agent string, referrer, timestamp, the URL you requested. Our hosting provider (Vercel) collects these for security and operational reasons. We don’t mine them for editorial decisions.

02 — Aggregate page-view counts

We use two analytics tools side by side, both for the same purpose: counting how many people read which articles, where in the world they’re reading from, and which referrer sent them. Neither is used for advertising, retargeting, or building a profile of you.

  • Vercel Analytics — cookieless. Doesn’t identify you and doesn’t touch localStorage.
  • Google Analytics 4 — uses standard _ga and _ga_* cookies for aggregate measurement. We don’t connect GA to Google Ads, we don’t share GA data with third parties for advertising, and we don’t use GA’s Audiences feature. Turn off cookies in your browser settings if you’d rather not be counted — the site works fine without them.

03 — Tool submissions

When you fill out the tip the editors form, your name, email, and the details about the tool reach us via Resend. We use it to write back. We delete the email thread after the tool is published or rejected, unless you specifically asked for ongoing contact.

What we don’t do.

  1. Sell or trade your data.

Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. There is no commercial reason for us to do this and there is no plan to start.

  2. Run cross-site advertising trackers.

No Facebook pixel, no LinkedIn Insight tag, no retargeting scripts, no advertising network beacons. The only third-party scripts on the page are Vercel (hosting + cookieless analytics), Google Analytics (aggregate counts, no advertising integration), and Resend (only on /submit, only when you submit).

  3. Build profiles on individual readers.

Aggregate counts only. We don't know which articles you read or which professions interest you, and we don't want to.

  4. Email you unprompted.

We don't have a mailing list yet. If we ever start one, opting in will be explicit, and the link to opt out will be in every email.

What you can ask for.

If you’re reading this from the EU, UK, or California, you have statutory rights to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. In practice that’s limited to whatever you sent us through the submission form, because we don’t hold anything else about you.

Email us and we’ll handle it within seven days. We don’t require a long verification dance for a request to delete an email thread.

RSS, search, and the things that don’t talk to us.

The site’s search runs entirely inside your browser via Pagefind — your queries are never sent to a server. Subscribing to the RSS feed is an anonymous fetch as far as we’re concerned; we can’t see who’s subscribed.

Changes to this notice.

We’ll update this page if our data practices change. Substantive changes (new third-party service, new category of data collected, anything that affects what you see above) will be announced in a dispatch at the time of the change, not retroactively.
