Orbit · Privacy

Your people are personal.
Your data stays that way.

This policy explains how the Orbit mobile app collects, uses, shares, retains, and deletes information. By using Orbit, you agree to this policy.

1. What Orbit is

Orbit lets you keep a small set of close people on your phone’s home screen as widgets, showing each person’s photo, local time, distance from you, and a short status. It also lets connected people send photos and reactions to one another.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what is needed to run Orbit:

  • Account information — your email address and sign-in provider identifiers.
  • Profile information — your display name, short status, location label, approximate coordinates, and device time zone. Location is optional; without it, distance is not shown.
  • Photos — images you choose to send, whether taken with the camera or selected from your library.
  • Connections and reactions — the people you connect with through invite codes and the reactions you send.
  • Safety reports and blocks — when you use a safety control, we keep the accounts involved, the reason, and a snapshot of the reported photo path and status so the report can be reviewed.
  • Push notification token — a device token used to deliver notifications.
  • Basic technical data — standard service and error logs used to operate, secure, and debug the app.

Orbit does not collect financial or payment information, health data, contacts, browsing history, or precise background location. Camera, photo-library, location, and notification access happens only with your permission and when you use the related feature.

3. How we use information

  • Provide the app’s core profile, connection, photo, status, distance, widget, and reaction features.
  • Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
  • Deliver push notifications you have allowed.
  • Operate, maintain, secure, debug, and improve Orbit.
  • Review safety reports, enforce the community rules, and prevent blocked accounts from reconnecting.

We do not sell personal information and do not use it for advertising.

4. How information is shared

  • With people you connect to — they can see the profile, status, photos, local time, and distance you choose to share. This information is not public.
  • With Supabase — database, authentication, server functions, and photo storage.
  • With Expo, Apple Push Notification service (APNs), and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — push-notification delivery.
  • With Google and Apple — account sign-in.
  • For legal or safety reasons when required by law or necessary to protect rights and safety.

We do not otherwise share, rent, or sell your data.

5. Retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and associated app data from Orbit’s profile screen. You can also request deletion by emailing emailme@hendryeffendi.com.

Account deletion removes your account, profile, connections, reactions, push tokens, and stored photos, subject only to any retention required by law or short-lived operational backups.

6. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. Database row-level security restricts app data so only you and the people you connect with can access what is intended for them. No transmission or storage method is completely secure, but we use reasonable safeguards.

7. Children

Orbit is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in their country. We do not knowingly collect data from children below that age. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data and we will delete it.

8. Your choices and rights

  • Edit or clear your profile, status, and location in the app.
  • Remove a connection to stop sharing with that person.
  • Report or block a connected person from their card. Blocking disconnects you and prevents future invites between the two accounts.
  • Delete your account and app data from the profile screen.
  • Disable notifications or revoke camera, photo, or location access in device settings.
  • Request access, correction, or deletion by contacting us.

Depending on where you live, including Singapore, the EU/UK, or California, you may have additional privacy rights. Contact us to exercise them.

9. Changes

We may update this policy as Orbit or its data practices change. We will revise the last-updated date and provide notice in the app when a material change requires it.
